What does word POPOTE means?
Popote is a swahili word spoken in Tanzania and East Africa that means ‘Everywhere’. The meaning of the word carry the vision of the Company. Our vision is to become the best African based Adventure Company that deliver the service of travel and adventures to whole Africa continent.
We are the true experts when it comes to Tanzania and we arrange lodge and camping safaris as well as Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru climbs. Besides a beautiful scenic Tanzania safari, we also organise relaxing beach stays on the shores of the Indian Ocean on either Tanzania’s mainland or on one of the beautiful islands of Zanzibar, Mafia or Pemba. You can check out some of our itineraries on Safari Bookings and make an online booking with us.
Our guiding principle is to work with each client, family and group in an individual way. We encourage you to work with us, discussing your interests, style of travel, budget, time frame and any other factors that would influence your trip – to come up with an itinerary best suited to you, your family or group. Noting that some have said that travel to Africa is not inexpensive, our tours offer the best value for your money.
We provide 7-seater custom safari Land cruisers with pop-up roof ideal for game viewing and sight seeing. The vehicles are well maintained to provide maximum level of comfort and safety and are fitted with HF long range radios for easy communication. The vehicles are fully equipped with cool-boxes and first aid kits, as well as guide books on wildlife, birds and plants of East Africa.
We know this for a fact! The success of your safari/climb will largely depend on your driver/guide. It is because of this that we have a great team of carefully selected driver guides, well trained and experienced and with a vast knowledge of the wildlife and animal behavior as well as the local fauna and flora. Our Kilimanjaro guides (including myself) are all KINAPA trained and licensed, and specifically chosen for our upbeat and adaptable personalities. More importantly, we know the importance of acclimatization and will make sure you trek “pole pole – slow slow”, giving you the best chance of summiting the mountain.
To make it is easy and convenient for the traveller, all our safaris and climbs depart daily with a minimum of 2 persons booking. We do this to allow our itineraries/safaris/climbs fit into your schedule, and prices are based on number of people in a travel group, so more participants more affordable. Please provide us with this information during your first enquiry to help us send you a most appropriate quotation.
Looking forward to being of service to you,
Owner and Chief Guide

Why Choosing Popote Africa Adventure Ltd?
- Best Guides:We have the best guides who have received extensive training in first aid and mountain rescue. With unrivaled experience and competence, they are among the most talented and respected professionals in the industry.
- Small Part:A small-party climb is the best way to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. We don’t believe in creating large trekking parties as it detracts from the experience. We strive to create the optimal conditions for a safe, successful climb. Keeping the group size small creates an intimate setting on the mountain, but more importantly ensures proper attention for each and every climber.
- Focus on Safety: Understanding that our top priority is to keep you out of harm’s way. Our guides perform regular health checks on all climbers, and they are prepared to prevent, detect and treat altitude sickness. We include rescue oxygen on every climb and have evacuation plans in place in case of emergencies.
- High Quality Camping Gears:We only use high quality camping equipment to keep climbers as comfortable as possible while outdoors.
